Just when you thought you couldn't take any more new-new wave or post-post punk, along comes Black Moustache, the newest bunch of NYC electo-rockers to come bursting out of the gate, intent on blowing out your speakers and shaking your ass in the process. Black Moustache is the pet project of A. Spencer Product (NYC electo-whizz DJ), Mike Skinner (production mastermind and moonlighting drummer from the Miracle of '86) and Kenan Gunduz (also known to bring the rawk for fellow NYC band, The Witnesses). Together, the three make sounds more reminiscent of Gang of Four and Wire than the current crop of synth-sporting NYC hair farmers. More addictive than crack and more infectious than SARS, Black Moustache's self-titled debut hits in August and is guaranteed to find itself superglued to every hipster's turntable from Brooklyn to Berliniamsburg.
